The Wakf Board is a statutory body constituted by the State Govt/UT Administration under the Wakf Act passed by the parliament of India. The Central Wakf Council, New Delhi is the Apex body constituted by the Govt. of India under the said Act.Wakf is a permanent dedication of movable or immovable properties for religious, pious or Charitable purpose as recognized by Muslim law. The Wakf Institution deal with the religious, social and economic life of Muslims. They are not only supporting Mosques, Dargah etc. But Many of them support Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and Musafirkhanas which are meant for social welfare.
